PMH Powering Diversity Scholarship Assists 2024 Recipients in Championships, Race Wins

Applications Close on Wednesday, January 15 for 2025 Program

CHARLOTTE (January 14, 2025) – In 2024, the Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH) Powering Diversity Scholarship program provided assistance to more than a dozen drivers, allowing them to not only compete in a PMH-owned race series, but to stand on the podium and win both races and championships.

Rafa Matos and Kaylee Bryson are two prime examples of success, with Matos claiming the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series championship, and Bryson winning the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli’s SGT Championship. Winning five and three races, respectively, Matos became TA2’s winningest driver and set a record as the only driver to win three championships in the class, while Bryson won her first title in the series, becoming the third female champion in Trans Am history.

Other Trans Am drivers finding success through the scholarship include Michelle Abbate, who earned a podium and three top-five finishes in Trans Am’s TA2 Pro/Am class and Jenn Krpata who won an SGT race. Additionally, Amy Ruman tallied three TA podiums, and Tyler Gonzalez earned three TA2 podiums of his own.

In Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Nicole Havrda capitalized on the support of the PMH Powering Diversity Scholarship to have a banner year, claiming four podiums en route to a sixth-place finish in the championship point standings and earning her first FIA Super License Points. Havrda became just the second woman to stand on the podium in FR Americas, following in the footsteps of Shea Holbrook, who recorded one third-place finish in 2019.

Competing in the Ligier JS F4 Series (JS F4), Maite Cáceres became the highest-finishing woman in any of the three series on PMH’s Open Wheel Ladder (FR Americas, F4 U.S. and JS F4) when she finished second in the season-opening round at NOLA Motorsports Park. Competing for a single-car team with virtually no testing, Cáceres and her International Motorsport team were set up for a bit of a David vs. Goliath battle. Despite that, she went on to claim a total of five podiums while finishing third in both the driver and team championship point standings.

In addition to Havrda and Cáceres, competitors like JS F4 drivers Christopher Parrish and Harbir Dass were both able to utilize the scholarship to earn their first-career podiums, while FR Americas driver Landan Matriano Lim earned two career-best fourth-place finishes with PMH’s support.

Applications close tomorrow for the 2025 PMH Powering Diversity Scholarship.
