LEXINGTON, Ohio (June 14, 2026) – Caleb Campbell returned to the top step of the podium, winning his fourth Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) race of the season, but his first since the series’ opening weekend. Climbing through the field from a fourth-place starting position, Campbell never looked back once he took the lead, winning the race with nearly a three-second margin.

Notes of Interest:

• After making its debut on July 2, 2016, F4 U.S. is celebrating its 10th Birthday this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course—the same circuit where the series contested its first round.
• Caleb Campbell earned his fourth win of 2026 in Race 2 at Mid-Ohio, extending his lead in the championship standings. Whichever driver wins the 2026 F4 U.S. title will also win a scholarship to compete in FR Americas next season.
• After winning Race 1 yesterday, Gastón Irazú returned to the podium with a runner-up finish in today’s event. The effort marked the sixth podium of the season for the Uruguayan driver.
• Zach Fourie was scored third, marking his sixth podium of 2026. The South African continues to search for his first win in formula cars.
• Ayden Kohut (No. 18 The Builders Source / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) scored a career-best finish with his fourth-place result.
• In their debut weekend, Zain Khan (No. 10 USNG Racing Ligier JS F422) and US NG Racing scored a career-best eighth-place finish in Race 2 at Mid-Ohio.

Setting the fastest lap in yesterday’s race, Gastón Irazú (No. 27 Elia Group / Baly / Canal 4 / Ancap / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F422) led the field toward the waving green flag to kick off F4 U.S.’s final race of the Racing America at Mid-Ohio weekend. It was clear from the very first turn that today’s race was going to be both aggressive and competitive as the field raced three wide into Turn 1. With contact made, the safety car was deployed as crews worked to clear a car that was stuck on the circuit. 

Irazú once again brought the field to the restart, but had his mirrors full of Campbell (No. 68 Steele Auto Group / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) who had climbed to second after the initial start. The Canadian used the restart as his opportunity to work around Irazú and overtook the lead on lap six. Behind them, Cole Medeiros (No. 77 MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) had settled into third while Zach Fourie (No. 15 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) worked through the field after dropping to sixth. After hard-fought battles with both Fernando Rivera (No. 16 Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F422) and Clemente Huerta Raab (No. 17 Velox USA / Speed Factory Ligier JS F422), Fourie reached Medeiros’ rear wing. Unfortunately, Fourie’s forward progress was stalled with multiple reports of blocking throughout the 30-minute race. As they took the checkered flag, Campbell was the first to cross the line, while Irazú followed in second and Medeiros in third. 

Following the race, the Stewards reviewed several reports of blocking by Medeiros on Fourie. Finding multiple incidents of dangerous blocking, forcing the driver off the circuit, and even causing Fourie to spin and lose positions, the Stewards issued a decision to move Medeiros to the last place in the classification. In addition, Medeiros will start Race 1 from pit lane during the series’ next round at New Jersey Motorsports Park, and will lose three grid positions in Race 2 as well.  

As a result of the penalties, Fourie was scored third on the official results.

“Gastón [Irazú] was right on me and this was the craziest race I’ve had so far this year—but it was the most fun too,” said Campbell atop the podium. “[Going three-wide into Turn 1] was a bit sketchy. I had a good start and moved up to second after starting fourth, so I can’t complain. It worked out well for me.
