September 15, 2026 – Evagoras Papasavvas heads to VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) this weekend with Crosslink Motorsports for the penultimate event of the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship, entering the weekend focused on regaining the championship lead after a difficult outing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP).

Papasavvas had maintained a strong hold on the championship lead heading into Canada, but his momentum was disrupted by incidents in each of the first two races. Despite the setbacks, the Crosslink Motorsports driver closed out the weekend on a high note, securing a victory in Race 3 to remain firmly in the championship fight. 

With just two event weekends remaining on the 2026 calendar, for a total of four races, Papasavvas heads to VIR ready to put the challenges of Canada behind him and maximize every opportunity across the weekend. The weekend's doubleheader format will provide another opportunity to earn valuable championship points as the title fight enters its closing stages. 

Set in the rolling forests of Alton, Va., VIR is one of the most iconic road courses in the United States. The 3.27-mile, 17-turn circuit will be the next stop on the schedule. For Papasavvas, the objective is clear; capitalize on every opportunity and leave VIR with the championship fight firmly in his hands.

“I’m looking forward to a strong weekend at VIR,” commented Papasavvas. “Canada was a challenging event, but we showed our resilience by fighting back to win Race 3 and keep ourselves firmly in the championship battle. With the title fight entering its final stages, every point and every session matters. The weekend begins with testing Thursday, followed by another test session and practice on Friday. Saturday features qualifying and Race 1, with Race 2 closing out the weekend Sunday. Live timing will be available via the Race Monitor app, with all races streamed on the @RacingAmericaTV YouTube channel.
